Your first Sunday at UU Tampa

What to expect

Visiting for the first time? You don’t need to know what to do, what to wear, or what to believe before you walk through our doors. Here’s what a typical Sunday at UU Tampa looks like.

01 – Arrive

Arrive & Get Settled

Worship begins at 10:30 AM on Sundays. Give yourself a few extra minutes to park, find the sanctuary, and get comfortable.

Our wooded campus is located on Morris Bridge Road, near Fletcher Avenue. Look for the large geodesic dome; that’s our sanctuary.

Wear whatever feels like you. You’ll see everything from Sunday best to jeans and T-shirts.

Good to Know

Plenty of free parking is available, including accessible parking near the sanctuary.

02 – come on in

Come on in

When you arrive, one of our greeters will welcome you and help you get oriented. Pick up a name tag and bulletin, then choose any seat you like (upstairs or downstairs).

Children and babies are welcome in worship. Families are welcome to sit together throughout the service.

Don’t worry about knowing when to stand, sing, sit or particpate. Just follow along in whatever way feels comfortable.

Good to Know

You can participate as much or as little as you like. Visitors are never expected to have the words, rituals, or routines memorized.

03 – Experience Worship

What happens during a service?

No two Sundays are exactly alike, but our services usually include a mix of music, reflection, ritual, and a message exploring the questions and experiences that shape our lives.

Music

Hymns, choir performances, and other music help us reflect, celebrate, and connect.

Joys & Sorrows

A time to share joys, sorrows, and significant moments we carry with us.

Reflection

Moments of meditation and stillness offer space to pause, reflect, and be present.

Offering

An optional offering supports UU Tampa and organizations service our wider community.

The Message

A sermon or reflection invites us to explore ideas, experiences, and questions more deeply.

Closing Together

We close with music and words that send us back into the world with something to carry forward.

A UU Tampa Tradition

The Stone Ritual

During worship, you’re invited to place a stone at one of our Zep stations to mark a joy, sorrow, concern, or intention you carry with you. Participation is always optional.

04 – Stay Awhile

Stay for Coffee & Conversation

After worship, you’re invited to stick around for coffee, conversations, and community. Its a relaxed chance to meet people, ask questions, and get to know UU Tampa a little better.

There’s no pressure to stay. Whether you head home after the service or spend time getting to know us, we’re simply glad you came.

Good to know

Coffee and conversation are open to everyone. You don’t need to be a member (or know whether UU Tampa is right for you) to join in.
